Current Positions:

Apprentice Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician

A unique opportunity for an individual to learn and grow with a well-respected company, working in the defence industry. We have a structured growth program and many opportunities to advance within the company. Duties include technicians will undertake operating, testing, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of sometimes complex equipment.

The training you will be getting

  • The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3.
  • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course. This is a day release programme which means you will attend Lincoln College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • There will be opportunities for career progression within our organisation, due to continued expansion and growth.
  • Apprentices who complete this apprenticeship will be classed as 'Time Served Engineers' and as such opportunities within engineering are wide and varied. They may take on a promotion at their employers or look to develop their career in other areas of the UK or overseas. They may also choose to continue with their education and study engineering on an HNC/HND program or a degree.

What you will do in your working day
We offer a varied work environment with many different types of equipment that require a hands-on approach to maintain and run.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Technicians will undertake operating, testing, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of sometimes complex equipment.
  • Also planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • You will be responsible for the quality of your own work and possibly others’ always ensuring the work is completed safely, to a high quality, standard, in a timely fashion.
  • Whilst maintaining the efficient running of plant and equipment.

Hours:

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. Shifts will be dependent on age and possibly overtime opportunities. Total hours per week: 40.0

Production Operative

£12.00 to £14.00 per hour, based on experience.
Location: Near the city of Lincoln, at Wickenby, LN3 5DR
EPA Manufacturing Ltd, is a leading specialist ammunition manufacturer working within the global Defence Industry. Established for over 15 years, we have recently moved to a brand-new facility due to continued expansion. We are an approved supplier to many Defence Organisations in the UK and worldwide, currently exporting to over 30 countries.

The move has created an exciting opportunity for Production Operatives to join our team.
This position is suited to a well-disciplined person with a methodical approach and an eye for detail, someone who is looking to advance within a growing organisation.

This position is based in our Production Department and answers to the Factory Manager.

Production Operative Responsibilities and Duties:
Manual and automated assembly of various types of energetic products. Carefully following manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs), whilst adhering to safe working practices.
Good housekeeping is essential. It is important to always maintain an organised clean work area.

Having responsibility for carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing operations to ensure quality is built in, and that any defects or concerns are highlighted and dealt with immediately.

Key Skills:

Demonstrable experience in manufacturing operations is essential. (Specific job training will be given.)
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination.
Good practical and technical skills.
Good communication skills, able to share information clearly.
IT and numerical skills, with basic computer literacy

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 4-day week 8am until 6pm with occasional shift and weekend work.
