EPA- CBC Group Advanced Defence Ammunition Initiative

15 October 2026
EPA has a long-standing reputation of bringing complex solutions to many problems operators face daily, following our acquisition it made sense to combine this with CBC Group, together with MEN, and Sinterfire, and establish a Joint Innovation & Capability Centre in the United Kingdom. Primarily focused on the research, development, testing, and production of next-generation military ammunition systems.

The initiative is designed to strengthen the Groups ability to bring product to market when it is needed, by shortening the R&D process by using a central governance and the wider groups expertise.

Why This Matters

Modern conflicts have demonstrated the urgent need for advanced solutions capable of addressing counter-drone operations, enhanced armour penetration, reduced soldier load, precision engagement, and mission-specific operational requirements.

Governments increasingly require trusted industrial partners able to deliver innovation rapidly, at scale, and with operational credibility.

Unique Strategic Advantage

CBC Group possesses one of the most vertically integrated ammunition ecosystems in the Western alliance, with expertise spanning propellants, primers, advanced projectile engineering, specialty materials, ballistic testing, and NATO-standard qualification. This integrated structure provides supply-chain resilience, faster development cycles, reduced dependency on external suppliers, and enhanced sovereign capability.

Conclusion

The CBC Group Joint Innovation & Capability Center represents a significant opportunity to establish a world-leading allied ammunition innovation hub in the United Kingdom. By combining the expertise of CBC, MEN, Sinterfire, and EPA, the initiative will deliver advanced defence innovation, industrial resilience, and long-term capability support for allied armed forces facing rapidly evolving battlefield threats.
